"I've always been interested in painting that has an element of spontoneity. The Impressionistic approach of reacting to what is in your line of vision, responding to tone, colour relationships and overall mood. The interesting thing about painting to me is that every brush stroke that is made has the potential to convey what the artist's intentions are.. It is a balance between logic, through observation, perspective etc. and an almost unconscious handling of the materials in order to avoid the work becoming to contrived mor lifeless."
